The PC, which will be launched at next week's Computex trade show in Taiwan, will come in Windows XP and Linux flavours, as does its notebook counterpart. The product will have a "Vesa mount" — the type of fitting used on flat-panel LCD or plasma displays — so it can be fitted onto the back of certain monitors.
Asus UK's product manager, Peter Butler, told ZDNet.co.uk on Tuesday that the Ebox would be a "one-litre device", a reference to its small footprint. The dimensions of the box will be 22.2cm by 17.8cm by 2.7cm.
In terms of specifications, all that is known at this point is that the Ebox will contain a 160GB hard drive and 2GB of RAM. The processor is yet to be from Details emerge of desktop Asus Eee PC
