WAKE n' BACON

by Matty Sallin, Daniel Bartolini, Hsiao-huh Hsu.
WHAT: An alarm clock that wakes you up with the smell and sizzle of cooking bacon.
WHY: No one likes to wake up, especially by an alarm. This clock gently wakes you up with the mouthwatering aroma of bacon, just like waking up on a Sunday morning to the smell of Mom cooking breakfast. Unless you're Jewish.
HOW: A frozen strip of bacon is placed in Wake n' Bacon the night before. Because there is a 10 minute cooking time, the clock is set to go off 10 minutes before the desired waking time. Once the alarm goes off, the clock it sends a signal to a small speaker to generate the alarm sound. We hacked the clock so that the signal is re-routed by a microchip that in responds by sending a signal to a relay that throws the switch to power two halogen lamps that slow-cook the bacon in about 10 minutes. if I don't like bacon, could I change to others? from WAKE n' BACON

The castle itself partly dates back to the time of the Romanesque style. It was later fully extended to a four-wing-ensemble, including a large tower. During the Seven Years War from 1756 to 1763, its interior became entirely destroyed. From the late 18th century on, the remains of Castle Freudenstein were primarily used for storage.

AFF’s concept was to respect the identity of place, while referring with their design in numerous ways to the new use. With an addition in black concrete, the architects clearly marked the museum entrance in the castle’s courtyard. from Museum Castle Freudenstein by AFF Architekten

Then 50 centiliters of 100% organic herbal essence is released into the bottle below — you shake it a wee bit and voila, you are ready to enjoy.

5 different flavors are available: Energy, Sexy, Balance, De-stress and Fitness (called Minceur in French). from Delo Water Boosters

Bird is an aptly named rocking chaise - looking somewhat like a bird with its tail in the air - that allows the sitter to balance on their center of gravity or simply rock back and forth. Very comfortable and a great conversation piece, the bird has an upholstered wooden structure with a removable external cover available in a choice of fabrics or leathers. Extremely popular with children it seems- they love to sit on it in the store. from Bird Chaise Lounge

This is a concept vehicle which few of us will ever drive. The Furai is Mazda’s next hope in the future of car racing. While going green on the race track is not exactly an eco-minded endeavor, we’re still intrigued that this vehicle can be fully powered by ethanol. The very cool looking performance sports car shows that if ethanol has a place in the auto industry, that place is in the car racing arena. from Ethanol Powered Mazda Furai Racecar

"The Amphora Vase, an amusing design inspired by a classic form, rests on its side, as does a flower stem. It was designed by the French interior and product designer Jean Marc Gady, and is 14.5 inches long and 7.25 inches high; $4,325 from Leaning Amphora of Baccarat

Its perfectly round dimensions are appealing as well as compact. Uncomplicated and understated, there are endless possibilities in the range to guarantee the Architec will fit perfectly into your bathroom. Wall-mounted or integrated into a vanity, the small washbasin looks great. The vanity shown here has an effective under-mounting of the sink, plus offers storage and a towel rail.
