This bowl is meant to enhance the user’s dining experience and awareness through a subtle play on balance. Filling the bowl with food causes the bowl to balance in a standard, horizontal position. As the food is eaten, the bowl slowly rocks back towards the user, making the remaining food more accessible and marking the end of the meal.

Design Museum and Time Out have commissioned Gitta Gschwendtner to investigate the tangible link between design and the city in an installation for the Design Museum Tank exploring the theme “Consume”. Referencing material consumption, Gitta Gschwendtner has created woodcrete stools cast from moulds based on paper shopping bags. Their individual, irregular form is created during the casting process and the woodcrete is made up from a mixture of concrete and wood fibres which makes it lighter and a more environmentally friendly material. The stools provide the visitor with a place to experience a contemplative moment to sit and consume the view of London, taking in its sights and sounds and presenting an alternative to the materialistic consumption prevalent in our lives today.

More than any of this, the guitar is simply a great guitar to play. The maple body gives it a smooth, rounded tone, while the walnut cap adds sustain. Combined with the Alumitone pickups, the overall tone is bright, full and clear. The body contours make it very comfortable to play and its ergonomics are second to none. To the untrained eye, it is a very different to existing designs; to the avid guitar player, it is completely different to anything out there, both in appearance and feel.

'mona chair'

design by Francesco Castiglione Morelli & Tommaso Ceschi

"It’s always an educational experience to see what’s in store for us as far eco-friendly products go. Joining the green brigade is this Timeless Garden that looks at bringing in a green patch and clock to match your décor. Using the chemistry between mud and metal, the clock sustains itself, without craving additional toxic juices. The frame is a hitch between by two recycled plastic bodies fashioned as a pot/clock.

Indoor plant with a self-sustaining digital clock….hmmm…I’m just wondering what will be the outcome if I happen to over-water the plant. Guess that will ruin my go-green aspirations!"

D'oh! Homer has come to the real world and discovered that there's no Duff Beer and no Moe's Bar! The only thing to do is to take him along to a fancy dress party with you and show him exactly how to have a drinking good time outside of Springfield!

This full-head latex mask is fully licensed by The Simpsons and features Homer's trademark dopey expression! All you need to complete the homer look is a white shirt and a pair of blue trousers, though you'll have to work on your beer belly if you want to pull off the full Homer effect!
